Why is my E-Reader is no longer showing up in Adobe Digital Editions?

This is a known issue with ADE and eReaders, though the cause is not known. Users will need to deactivate both their device and their computer, then follow these instructions:

  • First with your device connected to your computer access your devices folders
    • Go to My Computer on your PC
    • Open your eReader from your Devices/Removable Storage list
    • There will be an Adobe Digital Editions folder
    • Delete this folder
    • Close the file view of your device
  • Now eject your device from your computer
  • Now un-authorize your Adobe Digital Edition
    • To do this open ADE
    • Press and hold Control_Shift_D
    • Select Erase Authorization
  • Now reauthorize ADE
    • Go to Help in the top toolbar
    • Select Authorize Computer
  • Reconnect your eReader to your computer
Your computer should automatically authorize your device.
